Generative AI Prompt Variations
This is the next attempt in the series where I'm generating Constructivist architectural industrial factory images using Generative AI tools. (See Attempt 1.)
Prompt 1

We're continuing from where we left off, in Constructivist Factory no.1 and the only real prompt difference is that we asked for a "realistic photo".
I don't think our results are photorealistic yet. It's probably because of the colour choices? So let's remove the specific colours indicated and see if that improves things.
Prompt 2

The results are still clearly illustrations, but they're getting closer to something less cartoony. Let's make some small adjustments to the prompt again.

Now we've entered the realm of photorealism. In fact at first glance, these reminded me of abandoned factory locations I've been to in Buffalo, New York.
I really like the results here. As a ridiculous experiment, let's see what happens if I ask it to change from the typical red brick factory palette to green.

And... we have abandoned factories with green brick instead of red. I guess I shouldn't be surprised -- I asked for it.

Here are a few that stood out for me:
Prompt 1 // Image 1
Why? It's a good clean image, something I'd expect to see in a graphic novel. Yeah it's a little too colourful, but I asked for that.
Prompt 2 // Image 2
Why? I'm sure I've taken numerous photos that are similar. I like the style, the muted colour, the clear perspective. In this case it's kept the structures simple, and we have a pipe in the center of the scene. The vehicles (I think?) are blocky, but that's also likely related to the fact that the prompt asks for everything to be built from Minecraft blocks.
Prompt 3 // Image 2
Why? Now we're into the realm of realism. In terms of composition this is almost identical to the previous image (a simple perspective). But I like the framing, and the detail on the buildings (both on the left, and the silhouette on the right). I want to visit and explore this place.
Prompt 4 // Image 1
Why? Arguably this was generated mostly as a test/joke. But again, the AI tool tends to produce compositions I've seen many times and "agree" with. Again, we frame the image with the building facade on the right. This all makes me wonder how many architectural photos were "lifted" (used) in the training sets because the results definitely seem to have consistency.
